RESPONSIBILITIES
As a cook at our restaurant, you will be entrusted with a vital role in maintaining the authenticity and excellence of our culinary offerings. Your core responsibility will be the creation, preparation, and presentation of traditional Indian dishes, ensuring they stay true to the rich and diverse culinary heritage of India. You will be responsible for meticulously following our original, time-honored recipes while upholding the distinctive regional flavors and techniques that make each dish unique.
Given the specialized nature of cuisines, we are looking for a cook who possesses a deep and comprehensive understanding of traditional cooking techniques, from the precise use of spices to the mastery of various regional cooking styles. The ability to prepare intricate and layered flavors is essential, as cooking food often involves complex methods such as slow cooking, roasting, frying, and the use of diverse spice blends that require careful balance.

Tasks:
- Independently and collaboratively develop, prepare, and enhance authentic meals and their preparation techniques.
- Acquire in-depth knowledge and experience of our existing recipes and preparation methods.
- Perform essential prepping tasks such as washing, cutting, weighing, marinating, mixing, cooking, and stir-frying.
- Assess the freshness, taste, and shelf life of ingredients to ensure top-quality dishes.
- Ensure and continuously improve the quality of food, focusing on food safety, taste, and adherence to our working methods/ rules and regulations in the Netherlands.
- Share your culinary knowledge and experiences with other cooks and personnel, fostering teamwork and skill development.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper upkeep of kitchen appliances and tools.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A working and thinking level equivalent to MBO 3 or significant, demonstrable work experience at this level.
- In-depth knowledge of recipes, ingredients, fresh herbs, and traditional cooking methods.
- Proficiency in at least one language English, Hindi or Dutch.
- Willingness and ability to master our current recipes and preparation methods or a strong desire to learn from our established knowledge and expertise.
- Highly accurate, adaptable, and able to work effectively both independently and within a team.
- A thoughtful, quality-driven, and commercially focused mindset.
- Ability to adjust recipes for varying portion sizes or a willingness to acquire this skill.
- Valid work permit for the Netherlands with the "TWV niet vereist" status or an EU passport (required)
